Radiologists are leaders in imaging informatics and applying technical advances to practical medical use. This module shares the ACR’s informatics and AI tools and helps you to visualize how tools can be integrated smoothly into workflow. We’ll cover tools such as ACR Connect®, AI-LAB™, ACR DART™, Gravitas, and MARVAL.

AI-LAB™

By: Chris Treml

The AI-LAB is a data science solution made by the ACR with the goal of bring the power of AI and data science to the radiologist, while loosening the complexity to get involved. This video provides an overview of the AI-LAB and how it can be used to create and evaluate AI models.

Visit the AI-LAB website to learn more and build your own algorithm.

In this video, radiologists will learn:
  • What the AI-LAB is.
  • How to create a model using local data.
  • How to evaluate a model using the AI-LAB.

ACR dart™

By: Laura Coombs, PhD

The ACR data analysis & research toolkit (DART) portal provides the gateway to browse and query data for research, quality improvement and clinical study operational purposes, as permitted by the access levels. This video gives an overview of how to use DART.

In this video, radiologists will learn:
  • How to use the DART search function to find a cohort.
  • About the analytic tools available in DART.
  • How to use the image pipeline function.

Gravitas

By: Brett Swick

Gravitas is a system used to manage the creation, review and publication of appropriateness criteria (AC) clinical guidelines. It’s also used to manage evidence-based literature assessments for other programs at the ACR. This video shows how Gravitas is used in the process of creating new ACR Appropriateness Criteria®

In this video, radiologists will learn:
  • The ways the ACR uses Gravitas.
  • How Gravitas supports the creation of AC clinical guidelines.
  • The different review stages.

MARVAL

By: Chris Treml

MARVAL™ is an authoring tool used by content creators to review Computer-Assisted Reporting/Decision Support (CARDS) modules. MARVAL allows reviewers to simulate data, run test cases, make comments on each section of a module and provide approval for publication. It’s used for the development of Assist modules and, more recently, CDEs.

In this video, radiologists will learn:
  • How to define Assist modules.
  • How to navigate an Assist module in MARVAL.
  • How MARVAL can be used to create CDEs.

TRIAD-Connect

By: Chris Treml

TRIAD is a system developed to support our members and institutions in participating in research trials and registries. It’s a workstation-based system to allow the easy and secure transfer and anonymization of DICOM data from local institutions to the ACR. Connect is the newest evolution of TRIAD. It resides on your local server, allowing for more localized data processing.

In this video, radiologists will learn:
  • How to use TRIAD.
  • The difference between TRIAD and Connect.
  • How to use Connect.
