Join us on Jan. 22, 2022 for the ACR® Medical Student Symposium organized by fellow medical students.

Take part in a one-day virtual experience, where you will hear from a diverse group of speakers on topics ranging from: diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, women and diversity, and matching into radiology. Throughout the day, you will explore the rapidly evolving field of radiology. 


Topics of Spotlight

  • The Field of Radiology and Subspecialities: Radiology is not just sitting in a dark room. Attendees will learn about subspecialties in radiology and gain insight into how imaging can assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and can enable continuity of care.
  • Pathway to Radiology: Medical students will hear from current radiology residents and physicians about their journey to radiology, as well as receive advice on submitting a successful application.
  • Culture of Radiology: Attendees will learn how the culture of radiology is changing and how imperative it is to encourage diversity within reading rooms.

Keynote Speaker  

Beverly G. Coleman, MD, FACR

Is Professor Emeritus of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of Fetal Imaging in the Center for Fetal Diagnosis & Therapy at Radiology Associates of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she has worked since 1995. Dr. Coleman has also served as president of numerous radiology societies including the SRU, Radiology Section of the NMA, Pennsylvania Radiological Society, Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society and is the current president of the ACR.

Case Competition 

Submit case presentations that showcase unique radiology cases related to COVID-19.

ACR Escape Room Experience

Do you have what it takes to unlock the mystery of the missing radiologist? Follow clues to solve the puzzle and build teamwork, spark friendly competition, and support well-being along the way!

Join the session to participate in the virtual escape room, “Radiology Escapes — The Case of the Missing Radiologist.” Gather 4–6 teammates or sign up as an individual player, and get ready to have fun. 

Escape Room information will be provided the day of the symposium.
